Please allow me to introduce myself...

Hello everybody peeps! Welcome to my blog.

I'm an aspiring screenwriter, as if the blogosphere needed another one of us! I used to work in retail management (which isn't as exciting as it sounds) until I was made redundant, so I'm a full time layabout... I mean full time writer now, at least until the redundancy runs out!

I'm just starting out, so no credits as yet, tho I did get to the semis of the BSSC last year. I'm working at the Cheltenham Screenwriters Festival next week, so come and say hi if you're going. I'll try to put a piccie up, not promising anything - I've deleted this post twice!! (The machines are not my friends)

I'll post again before then (if I can manage to get back here!) but feel free to say hi in the comments section.

Later.

Hellooooooooo!

Congratulations on getting through to the semi's last year! They booted me out in the second round... ouch.

Have fun at Cheltenham. What job are you going to be doing? Please have a sniff around for behind the scenes goss!

Hello Sir! I look forward to getting you so ludicrously drunk at Cheltenham, that you're utterly unable to do whichever job you're supposed to be doing. Splendid! :)

Hello, and thank you guys!

potters - you must be the only person I've met in the last year I didnt mention that to, but thanks. swap u it for, say a trip to LA!

Gonna be a driver at Cheltenham(GULP) so get ready for confessions of a taxi driver!

(interestingly, fact fans, the naff 70's brit sexcom 'Confessions of a Taxi Driver' was released in UK cinemas the same year as Paul Schrader's Taxi Driver, and utterly trounced it at the box office!)

Sir Jason - look forward to seeing you at Cheltenham. Like I said, driver, so I'm sure a being drunk won't affect my duties...

(should point out I'm joking about the drinking, your honor - I never have more than one shandy when I'm driving, so looks like I'm going to have be sober the whole time!)

Clearly Sheikspear that is a YES.

And you will always be blogless Martin to me.

Hello Martin -

Welcome to the blogging community. "Blogging", such an odd word. Sounds like something you could get arrested for if done in public.

I know this must be a stupid question, so I apologize in advance, but what is BSSC?

Even though you're starting out, know that you are a writer already and your many credits will soon follow.

Congratulations!

Thank you for the wise words your maj, it's not a stupid question, especially if you're in New York!

It's the British Short Screenplay Competition - the semis were the last 90 odd out of about 200, so I was quiet chuffed. it's just closed for entries today for this year, so fingers crossed.

Mrs Martin,

the other Far Away is FEMALE.

WARNING TO ALL FOLK GOING TO CHELTENHAM.

Do not get into Martin's vehicle. He can't tell the difference between boy bits and girl bits!

I'm not the OTHER Far Away

I'm THE Far Away.

This one is an impostor!

martin said...

far away, I've always felt so too!!

But consider the offer of a duel revoked with my humblest apologies, madam, unless perchance you wish for a gentleman champion yr honour?

And potters I can tell the difference, I can, honest! Although not, obviously over the web

dont think I'm going to be driving the guests around anyway, so unless Stephen Frears is reading...

Hi again,Martin! Like your movie pitch, (I must think of one...) What was semi finals success in the BSSC about? (I've got a draft of a short, fun, horror ready for the next one...)

P.S. Just a quick thank you to the dozen or so peeps who looked me up...I've now added a wee bit of tantalising profile...

I'll cross my fingers for you to win the BSSC.
And my royal toesies, too.

Good luck!
