Lucypalooza

Here's my pitch for the online "Lucypalooza" pitching contest over at www.lucyvee.blogspot.com/

Any feedback would be gratefully received...

TITLE - THE FEARLESS

PITCH- A LOWLY KITCHEN WORKER HAS TO SAVE THE WORLD WHEN ALIENS ATTACK THE SPACESHIP HE WORKS ON.

GENRE - SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER

SYNOPSIS - In the time of the 1st Great Human Empire, Sam Mellor is a Shift Supervisor(2nd Class) on the flagship of the Earth fleet - The Fearless.

When the viscous human-hating Musani take over the ship - intending to turn it on Earth - only Sam and a motley collection of cooks, cleaners, and quacks are left alive.

Apart they’re a mess…

But together they’re The Earth’s only hope.

Can Sam and his colleagues prove their worth, and stop the Musani from exterminating every last human in the galaxy?

And even if they do, will any of them survive to get back to Earth themselves?

Hi again,Martin! Like your movie pitch, (I must think of one...) What was semi finals success in the BSSC about? (I've got a draft of a short, fun, horror ready for the next one...)

P.S. Just a quick thank you to the dozen or so peeps who looked me up...I've now added a wee bit of tantalising profile...

P.S. Only recently started commenting & Just noticed the timing on the bottom of the first comment is way out...in reality it's 09.38 ( late breakie) but the "print" says 01.36 (insomnia)...
...And here was me thinking poor LUCY (the famous Miss Vee) was up tapping away into the wee hours for her posts...Another clever showbiz illusion...

Good luck with this, Martin. I'd be tempted to swap the opening sentence round though:

from

'WHEN ALIENS ATTACK THE SPACESHIP HE WORKS ON, A LOWLY KITCHEN WORKER HAS TO SAVE THE WORLD.'

to

'A LOWLY KITCHEN WORKER HAS TO SAVE THE WORLD WHEN ALIENS ATTACK THE SPACESHIP HE WORKS ON.'

But look again Dan, it already says that! But no, yr right - it was that way round till the last moment, and it is far better yr way. Cheers.

Bard - I've noticed that before, it must be hosted (or some such technical term) abroad, but as Lucy is blessed with a couple of sprogs I'm sure she's familiar with the wee small hours anyway...;)

the BSSC short was a horror film called The Woods, I'm going to try to get it made sometime, so I'll post about it after Cheltenham.

I'm sure Lucy and Danny Stack have some good archive posts about pitching, and if you ask them nicely they might know of some good links to other online articles.

...and also if you go to the FAQ section in the KAOS films website they have last years winning script.

Thanks, Sir Martin!

You've got the hang of this blogging thing now, methinks...

If carry on being this informative you'll soon be "up there" on the Golden Blogging Pedestal on a par with the great Lucy and Danny...

You do me honour indeed, sir, but I am not worthy to touch the hems of thier garments.

As a fan of sci-fi, I can tell you, I want to see this movie - so get on with writing it!
I hope they're victorious, in a Ripley sort of way. Her character was scared almost out of her mind, but she prevailed. And she saved the cat, so how great is that?

Thanks your highness, and it's almost written!! In it's latest draft at least, and thanks for the best wishes on the BSSC.

Is that where 'save the cat' comes form? You learn something new every day!

Hi Martin, I love Science Fiction and I think this will be very exciting visually. I also like the fact that Sam isn't an obvious hero.

Hmm, I don't know if that's where "save the cat" comes from...but it should be if it's not!
