Massive, massive Buffy fan, but for some reason the trailer doesn't blow me away. But Whedon can do little wrong in my eyes, so can't wait.
Dollhouse airs in The States in Feburary. No UK broadcaster has picked up the series at the moment, but it's from Fox and Sky are promoting on thier website, so do the math. http://tv.sky.com/ones-to-watch-in-2009/28

As one who doesn't tend to pay attention too much I've only heard whispers about this show. Now, I know the blurb and have seen the trailer I actually find it quite disturbing... are they basically trying to sell me a show about docile programmable women who are hired out for "particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds". Combined with the word 'lover' in the trailer this is quite perturbing.
Apologies for criticizing Whedon- but with the little information I have to go on this show sounds a little nauseating. I'm probably wrong but that trailer doesn't really give much away!
But Shirley the distrubing bit is intentional? One of the "docile programmable women" is the protagonist - and it seems the arc is about her breaking said programming.
I think Whedon's got enough feminist credentials to take that on trust. I think you've nailed it saying the trailer doesn't really give much away - it doesn't really give you a sense of that the show'll be like.
Also looks rather serious, and Buffy was a bit like the films of Woody Allen. The early funny ones were better!
